Bulley is a hamlet off the main Gloucester to Ross A40 road some 7 miles west of Gloucester and 1 mile north of Churcham. The church of St Michael and All Angels is a Grade I listed building built on Saxon foundations. The current building is mainly Norman and Early English with a massive Norman chancel arch and Norman doorway built in light and dark coloured stones. The porch is shaded by a magnificent old yew tree with a girth of 18 feet.
A perpendicular gothic window in the south side of the nave was added in the 15th century. In 1886 the building was restored by the architect Sidney Gambier Parry. Internally traces of interesting mediaeval red and white chevron wall decoration remain.
To celebrate the millennium the congregation commissioned a series of stained-glass windows in the chancel.
